The Church of San Francesco in Vetralla, the oldest in the town, was built in the 7th century and reconstructed in Romanesque style in 1207 following its destruction in 1187. Located along the Via Francigena, it became Franciscan in the 15th century. The facade, made of peperino and tuff, preserves repurposed materials from the nearby Forum Cassii. The interior, featuring three aisles with carved capitals and a Cosmatesque floor, houses a marble tabernacle from the workshop of Andrea Bregno and the funerary monument of Briobris, a work by Paolo Romano. Also significant is the fresco cycle dedicated to Saint Francis by Francesco Villamena.
